Moonshine, also affectionately called Moonie is the foundation of Little Moon Acres. She became Kristie's FFA project 7 years ago and has been the sweetest girl. She is a little bit on the shy side but don't let that fool you! She loves children and her humans! Moonie was bred for the first time in November of 2014 and she kidded on April 9th, 2015 at 149 days into her gestation, right on time, 2 hours before 150 days with NO complications for a
first freshener! She has very sharp withers, a long neck,
and improving back as she matures. For a very small girl, her udder
has proven sensational and has blown Kristie out of the water.
For such a small girl, she has highly impressed all of us at
Little Moon Acres.
In 2017, we tried breeding Moonshine again with no success. We plan on trying to breed her one more time before officially "retiring" here where she will live out the rest of her years here on our farm. Moonie is our original golden girl and deserves nothing but the best living out her years on our farm.

Little Moon Acres RN BRandy

Sire: Rebeka Acres Raise A Native
S: Phoenix Rising Mine That Bird
D: 5 Acres Farm Sweet Summer Emily
Dam: MistyHighland Farm R Moonshine
S: MistyHighland Farm R Redford
D: MistyHighland Farm R Destiny
Brandy is the kid of our beloved Moonshine. She came into our lives four years ago and we knew that we had to retain her. It turns out that it was one of the best decisions we made. Brandy was bred in November of 2017 and kidded out on day 150 (no complications) in April 2018 with two kids. She stands very correct and shows lots of dairy character, especially depth. As history repeats itself, her first freshener udder has blown us away, much like her mother's. We hope to get Brandy out to some shows next year and plan on breeding her again. She is a pleasure to milk and has amazing manners on the milk stand. We are excited to see what the future holds for this amazing doe!

Meet Templeton Rye, our sweet little wether. We usually don't keep "boys", but when this guy made his apperance into the world we knew we had to! He has a very unique personality that keeps us on our toes and a very flashy look. Although now a wether, he has a very masculine and strong shape. He is extremley strong in his legs, throughout his body and has a strong brisket. Overall, he is exactly what we envision in a buck, so much so that we will be repeating the breeding of his dam and sire in several years. He makes great company to our girls, the "lookout" and a fantastic detection of when our girls are coming into heat! We love our little "Rye Guy" and he will forever have his home here with us at Little Moon Acres.
